Pitt IT Analytics-Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh-( Who We Are: Panthers Data and Analytics represents the University of Pittsburgh Athletics Department as part of the University’s Pitt IT Analytics team. Our mission is “Improve decision-making by managing data from source to strategy.” We help Athletics improve 4 domain areas: operations, revenue generation, sports performance & sports analytics. Who we are looking for: an experienced data/analytics individual contributor familiar working with complex customer data & collaborating with teammates directly, preferably in a sports setting . Aunique blend of business acumen & technical expertise positions you to create impactful, reliable, & innovative data solutions to help reach our goals.
What you will work on : The position will transform raw data into curated data and analytics products to inform Athletics decision-making. You will work on projects across all domains; however, the primary focus is on revenue generation domain. Projects could include dynamic pricing recommendations, lead list generation, customer experience analysis, etc.
Who you will work with: The Pitt Analytics team is a cross-functional team with a hybrid work structure (some on-site and some remote staff). The employee will collaborate closely with its analytics team members – including data engineers, analytics engineers & data scientists – to build solutions. This position should expect to work regularly with Athletics executives & department staff.
Required Technical Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a data analyst, analytics engineering or similar role; preference toward experience specifically with sports industry revenue generation data such as from sports ticketing, CRM, & email marketing platforms
- Database technologies (data lake & warehouse); business intelligence tools (Tableau preferred); version control systems (GitHub preferred). Required Non-Technical Experience: Communicate effectively with, and “translate” between, technical & non-technical parties; Strong collaboration skills with a demonstrated ability of working well in a team; Self-directed, motivated & comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; Aptitude for managing diverse projects & navigating through shifting priorities & demands. Desired (but not Mandatory): Experience with sports revenue technologies Salesforce, Eloqua & Paciolan; Experience working in (or with) a revenue unit for a professional or NCAA sports property
