Introduction to the job The Algorithms and Physical Modeling Engineer is responsible for technology activities related to algorithms utilizing machine learning, stochastic, and physical modeling methods for electrical and physical defect inspection and metrology with e-beam systems. This position works closely with HW & SW engineering teams as well as Application teams.
Role and responsibilities Investigate algorithms utilizing physical models and machine learning for electrical and physical defect inspection and metrology with e-beam systems.
Research, develop, and implement image quality metrics for SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) images obtained from Ebeam tools, integrating these into SEM defect inspection and metrology products.
Develop accurate and robust metrology algorithms for EBeam tools and algorithms for system calibration.
Proven track record of delivering production-ready ML solutions in the semiconductor industry.
Extensive experience in image processing, computer vision algorithms, deep learning tools, tracking, detection, and calibration.
Strong understanding of physics (e.g., optics, electron-optics).
Ability to understand customer problems, define technical directions, conduct independent research, and deliver high-quality solutions within time and budget constraints.
Effective communicator capable of collaborating with HW, SW, and application teams.
At least 5 years of experience in C/C++, Python, familiar with software engineering practices and related libraries.
Experience in software prototyping, analysis, design, optimization, and testing.
Education and experience Master's or PhD in Information Technology, Software, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical fields.
Experience and Skills Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in IC manufacturing, semiconductor process technology, inspection, or metrology is preferred. Candidates should be quick learners, self-motivated, capable of working independently, and thrive under pressure.
Personal skills Strong communication skills to articulate complex problems and solutions effectively to customers and management.
Team-oriented: collaborative, open to challenging ideas, and supportive of colleagues.
Additional information The current base annual salary range is $157,875 - $263,125, determined by role, level, location, and market data. Compensation is assessed individually based on skills, experience, education, and other factors.
