Job Requirement: Plans, Programs, & Requirements Support (MD 3 S5) CONTINGENT ON CONTRACT AWARD
Position Title: Aerospace Engineer (SME & Senior)
Location: Mission Delta 3 (MD 3), Peterson Space Force Base, CO
Key Responsibilities:
Innovation and Developmental Program Meetings:
Actively participate in innovation meetings and developmental program discussions with partners such as Space Operations Command (SpOC), Space Systems Command (SSC), Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM), other USSF Space Deltas, and industry partners.
Attend near-daily meetings to ensure alignment with MD 3 objectives.
Operator Needs Coordination:
Collaborate with developmental and sustainment program offices (e.g., SSC, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, Space Rapid Capabilities Office) to capture and route operator needs and concerns to appropriate Program Offices.
Support weekly meetings for 5-9 inbound weapon systems.
AF Form 1067 Process:
Facilitate the AF Form 1067 process for updates/upgrades to existing Programs of Record identified by the operational community.
Submit approximately 1-2 AF Form 1067s per month.
Program Reviews:
Attend developmental program reviews such as Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), and Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs).
Provide recommendations and feedback on emerging requirements during weekly meetings for 5-9 inbound weapon systems.
Innovation Discovery and Implementation:
Support future innovation discovery and implementation efforts as directed by MD 3 leadership.
Participate in monthly discovery sessions to identify and implement new solutions.
Maintenance Engineering and Lifecycle Program Support:
Provide maintenance engineering and lifecycle program support for MD 3 weapon systems.
Support 9-13 weapon system programs requiring engineering and lifecycle management at the staff level.
Liaison and Coordination:
Interface with deployed teams, program offices, and operational units to coordinate maintenance, engineering, and lifecycle program support for weapon systems.
Attend weekly meetings for 3-5 weapon systems in sustainment.
Qualifications: Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
Education: May possess a bachelors degree in engineering, Program Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience:
Minimum 15 years of experience in program management, lifecycle support, or innovation planning within a government or military environment.
Familiarity with weapon system sustainment and developmental program reviews is preferred.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and program management tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in program management or lifecycle support are a plus.
Preferred Attributes:
Experience with AF Form 1067 processes and developmental program reviews.
Knowledge of innovation discovery and lifecycle program management methodologies.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Note: This position requires strict adherence to security protocols and may involve occasional travel to support operational requirements.
